Filmmaking for Human Rights

Imagine dropping your child off at school every day afraid that you won't be back at pickup time. Imagine staying with a violent partner because calling the cops could tear you away from your kids. Imagine arranging for a neighbor to take care of your children in case your disappear — which could happen any time.

Today Breakthrough, an organization that uses film and media technology as a vehicle for human rights, premiered their new short film "The Call," to bring awareness to the injustices immigrant mothers endure at the hands of a country that fails to protect them and their families.

As part of the promotion, Breakthrough encourages people to share the film in all of their social media networks with the hashtag #ImHere.
